Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 June 2026
EV Chargers NI is a free, independent comparison service for EV charger installation in Northern Ireland. We are not an installer. When you ask us for quotes, we share your details with vetted installers so they can quote for your job. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are. It is written to be read, not to hide things.
Who we are
This website is operated by EV Chargers NI ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the information you provide through this site.
Registered company details to be confirmed. Company number, registered office address and (if applicable) VAT number will be published here once finalised. In the meantime you can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
When you complete a quote request or contact form, we collect:
- Your name, email address and (if you give it) phone number.
- Your postcode and property type.
- Details about your enquiry, such as your preferred charger, timeframe and any grant relevant to you.
We also collect limited technical and usage data automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, through cookies and similar technologies where you have consented. See the cookies section below.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To match you with installers and pass on your enquiry so they can quote. This is to take steps at your request before, and to perform, the service you have asked us for.
- To contact you about your enquiry and improve our service. This is our legitimate interest in running and improving the service, balanced against your rights.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping necessary records.
- For analytics and marketing cookies, only where you have given consent.
Who we share it with
This is the important part. When you request quotes, we share the details you provide with up to three vetted EV charger installers who cover your area, so they can contact you and quote for your installation. By submitting the form you are asking us to do this.
Once an installer receives your details, they are an independent data controller and handle your information under their own privacy policy. We also use trusted service providers (for example for hosting, email delivery and analytics) who process data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with installers for any purpose other than quoting on the enquiry you submitted.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry data only for as long as needed to provide the service, deal with any follow-up, and meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to make the site work, and analytics or marketing cookies only if you accept them via our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing the cookie or revisiting the banner.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us at [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. For anything not covered here, please get in touch.
