About us
The independent layer between you and the installers
EV Chargers NI is an independent comparison and quote-matching service for EV charger installation in Northern Ireland. We are not an installer. We match you with vetted local electricians and let them compete for your job.
Who we are
EV Chargers NI is an independent comparison and quote-matching service for people getting an EV charger fitted in Northern Ireland. We do not sell, own or install chargers ourselves.
Because we do not fit chargers, we have no reason to push one brand, one box or one installer. Our only job is to connect you with vetted local installers and give you the information to choose well: what a fair price looks like, which OZEV grant you might claim, and the NI-specific steps that catch people out.
You can reach us any time at [email protected].
How it works
One form, up to three quotes from vetted NI installers.
- Step 1
You tell us about your property
One short form: your postcode, and whether you have a driveway, a flat, on-street parking or a business. It takes under a minute and costs you nothing.
- Step 2
We match vetted installers
We pass your enquiry to up to 3 NICEIC or OFTEC registered installers who cover your area, and we flag any OZEV grant you may be able to claim.
- Step 3
You compare and choose
The installers quote you directly. You compare on price, charger and lead time, then book the one you like. You are never charged by us, and there is no obligation.
How we make money, stated plainly
We think you should know exactly how a free service pays for itself.
Installers pay us for qualified quote requests. When you complete the form and we pass your enquiry to installers who cover your area, those installers pay us for that lead.
The service is free for homeowners. We never charge you, at any point. There is no fee to get quotes and no obligation to book.
Because up to three installers compete on the same job, the pricing stays honest: you see more than one number, so a high quote is easy to spot. That competition is the whole point of using us instead of ringing one installer and hoping.
How we vet installers
We only pass your details to installers who meet a clear bar.
NICEIC or OFTEC registration
We only pass your details to electricians who are registered with NICEIC or OFTEC. Both are recognised UK competent-person schemes for electrical work, which is what a compliant EV charger install needs.
Northern Ireland coverage
Every installer on our panel works across Northern Ireland, so the quotes you receive are from people who actually cover your postcode, not a national call centre.
NIE Networks notification
In NI, a new home charger must be notified to NIE Networks. Our installers handle that notification as standard, so your charger is signed off properly. We ask about it as part of onboarding.
How we check our facts
Grants and network rules change. We source figures from official pages and date our content so you can see how current it is.
Grant figures
We cross-check OZEV grant amounts and eligibility against infrastructure-ni.gov.uk and the official OZEV scheme pages. Where a scheme changed (for example, driveway homeowners losing eligibility), we say so plainly.
Network and install rules
The NIE Networks notification requirement and connection guidance are taken from NIE Networks' own published guidance, not from installer marketing.
Review dates
Our money pages carry a last-reviewed date so you can see how current the figures are. If a grant or rule changes, the page and its date are updated.
This page was last reviewed on 6 July 2026.
