The person behind the pages

Connor McAuley

Editor, EV Chargers NI

I run EV Chargers NI and Compare Solar NI. These sites help people in Northern Ireland understand their options before speaking to an installer.

My role here

My role is editorial. I help turn source material into practical guides, with the Northern Ireland rules and limitations made clear. I do not install chargers, and this site does not replace a qualified electrician's assessment of your property.

How to read our guides

Source links sit beside the figures and rules they support. For grants, that means the relevant government scheme guidance. For network requirements, it means NIE Networks. Tariff comparisons should identify the supplier and the date of the prices used.

Published and updated dates mean different things. The published date tells you when an article first appeared. An updated date records a content revision; a change to the site's design does not make the advice newly checked.

Research and technical review

Editorial responsibility is different from an electrical qualification. We only name a technical reviewer when that person has actually reviewed the article. Follow the linked source for current terms, and ask your installer about the requirements for your own property.

How the site is funded

Installers pay us for qualified quote requests. You can use the comparison service free of charge. Read how the service works and how we make money.

Corrections are welcome

If a figure, rule or explanation needs correcting, email [email protected]. Include the page address and a link to the source so we can check it.
